Patrick Kelly
Pat has led bright talent in the clearing industry. Most recently at Electronic Transaction Clearing, Inc. (“ETC”) he oversaw firm operations, trade reconciliation and settlements, risk management, client margin and trading systems. Prior to ETC, he managed operations divisions at First Trade Union Trust. Pat holds a bachelor’s degree from Colgate University. When he is not leading the team at Velox, you might find Pat cutting some waves in the surf of Southern California.
Monique Saugstad
Prior to Velox, Monique was chief compliance officer of Electronic Transaction Clearing, Inc. where she oversaw all regulatory compliance, anti-money laundering (AML) governance, and surveillance of the firm’s equity trading activities. Her supervisory compliance experience includes working with retail, institutional and high net worth clients, and preparing for various FINRA and SEC regulatory examinations. Monique earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Los Angeles, and her JD from Western State University School of Law. In her spare time, Monique finds her zen in gardening and yoga.
Florence “Flo” Tai
Flo has worked with operations and finance groups on various projects to increase productivity and efficiency. Her oversight of customer service, back office support and technology teams has enabled efficiencies in accounting, banking, P&S, data management, client services, and client tax reporting. Previously, Flo was chief operating officer for SogoTrade, Inc., and also held the dual role of chief operating officer and chief financial officer for Genesis Securities. For vacation, Flo loves to travel, particularly in Europe and Asia.
Irene Shen
Irene has held regulatory reporting, risk management and operations management roles with various clearing firms and broker-dealers; this includes Apex Clearing, where she was involved in the firm’s merger of Penson Financial Services with Ridge Clearing. Irene earned her bachelor’s degree from Central University of Finance and Economics in Beijing, China; and an MBA from Oklahoma City University.
Walter Peczon
Walter’s career spans over 33 years in correspondent clearance, prime brokerage, and investment advisory platform development. Prior to Velox, he has held senior sales and relationship management roles at Electronic Transaction Clearing, Inc.; United Capital; National Planning Corporation; Bear Stearns Securities Corporation; and Wedbush Securities. Walter earned his bachelor’s degree from Colby College, and an MBA from Cal Poly University, Pomona. In his spare time, Walter tries to find his balance with paddle-boarding and yoga.
Steve Hoefling
Steve Hoefling leads Velox’s brokerage operations. He has spent the past 20+ years in senior operations management roles with leading firms, including Charles Schwab, LPL Financial, TradeStation and Scottrade/TD Ameritrade. Most recently, Steve oversaw operations and securities finance groups at Scottrade in St Louis. Originally from the Boston area, he studied accounting at Fairfield University and finance at Northeastern University. Steve is an avid sports fan and continues to keep a close eye on each of his hometown Boston sports championship teams.
Shuang “Cloris” Du
Cloris enjoys a strong network with some of the largest mutual funds and hedge funds in Asia, which she developed during her tenure as executive director in the sales and trading division of Goldman Sachs. Cloris earned her bachelor’s degree, and her M.S. in economics, from Tsinghua University. In her spare time, she enjoys painting and spending time with her family.
David Herron
David has over forty years of experience in the securities industry with such firms as Fidelity Investments and Charles Schwab. He was the former CEO of the Chicago Stock Exchange and has served as a board director of the Cincinnati and Boston Stock Exchanges and other industry affiliations.
